A Portaria Capixaba do Parque Nacional do Caparaó fica localizada EM Pedra Menina, no município de Dores do Rio Preto-ES, a portaria foi inaugurada no dia 22 de setembro de 1998 pelo então Ministro Gustavo Grause coordenada pelo Fórum Pró Caparaó/Consorcio Caparaó, junto ao Governo do ES e prefeitura de Dores do Rio Preto
A Portaria Capixaba é administrada pelo Instituto Chico Mendes que controla o Fluxo de visitantes e faz a parte administrativa do parque. O objetivo principal o fortalecimento e divulgação da atividade de turismo desenvolvida desde 1998 com a abertura da Portaria Capixaba do Parque Nacional do Caparaó no município e principalmente no entorno do Parque e Distrito de Pedra Menina, onde teve início com o Projeto Cama e Café com hospedagem solidaria nas propriedades rurais como alternativas de renda e hoje o município conta com 40 empreendimentos turísticos entre pousadas, restaurantes, Cafeterias e agroindústrias, além dos atrativos naturais. Dessa forma o município tem se destacado como município Turístico, através da entrada pela Portaria Capixaba de Pedra Menina onde os aventureiros buscam a pratica de TREKKING por trilhas e Cachoeiras como Cachoeira da Farofa, Cachoeira do Aurélio e Cachoeira dos Pilões, além de observação de Aves e alcançar o Pico da Bandeira, sendo o mais alto da Região Sudeste e o 3° do Brasil, destacando-se ainda por produzir o melhor Café do Brasil, além de se transforma no point do Cicloturismo na região. O município conta ainda com o reconhecimento do Programa Nacional da Regionalização do Turismo junto ao Ministério do Turismo e SETUR, o Município de Dores do Rio Preto-ES, está inserido como município prioritário na Região Turística do Caparaó Capixaba, por ter a Portaria Capixaba de acesso ao Parque Nacional do Caparaó que leva ao Pico da Bandeira
